Do you still offer vehicle recovery?
No. Our recovery service has now closed, and we focus solely on maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and MOT preparation. For breakdown and recovery, contact Ashley Wood Recovery.
What types of vehicles do you work on?
Our 4-bay workshop services vans, trucks, trailers, and buses — from light commercial vehicles up to full HGVs and PCVs. We work with all popular makes and models, and we’re happy to take on less common ones too.
Can we choose between OEM and pattern parts to manage repair costs?
Yes. We’ll always explain the options and the trade-offs so you can decide for each job, rather than defaulting to the most expensive part when it isn’t necessary.
I'm a small operator. Can you carry out Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) for my fleet?
Yes. Whether you have a couple of trucks or twenty, we are happy to help and provide the documentation you need to stay compliant. DVSA guidance sets PMI intervals between 4 and 13 weeks, depending on the vehicle’s age, mileage and how it’s used. Heavily used vehicles, or those 12 years old or more, typically need inspecting every 6 weeks. Newer, lightly used vehicles can often go up to 13 weeks. We carry out PMIs at whatever interval your operator maintenance programme sets.
What's included in your MOT presentation service?
We do a full pre-test check, fix anything that could cause a failure (subject to your approval, at an additional cost), and take the vehicle to the DVSA test station for you.
Can we drop vehicles off outside workshop hours?
Yes. Out-of-hours drop-off at our Poole workshop can be arranged, so your vehicle is ready for us first thing, and you lose less time on the road. Call us on 01202 912949 to arrange it.
How quickly can you diagnose a fault?
We aim to diagnose and quote most faults the same day using our experience and dealer-level diagnostic equipment. Repair time depends on parts availability, but we work to get every vehicle back on the road as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
